Private Party Transfers are by appointment. Please call us at (909) 277-7967 ext. 2
or email us to schedule your appointment. If you do not have an appointment, we will do our best
to accommodate you, but we may ask you to return at a different time.

Private Party Transfer Fees

• DROS: $37.19
• Dealer Fee: $10.00
• Additional Long-Gun or Handgun: $10.00 per additional firearm
• ATF Reporting Fee (applies only to multiple handguns or multiple centerfire semi-automatic rifles): $50.00

FFL Transfer Policies and Fees

We are happy to receive transfers from other FFLs. Firearms must be transferable in the state of California,
and it is your responsibility to confirm your firearm is legally transferable. If we receive a non-transferable
firearm, you will still be charged the FFL fee and will be responsible for return shipping costs.

• You must notify us in advance that you intend to use our FFL to transfer a firearm. If we receive an FFL transfer without prior notification, we will refuse the incoming shipment.
• All transferred firearms must include an invoice or bill of sale. We will not transfer firearms without an accompanying invoice or bill of sale.
• Firearms do not have to be received from an FFL. We do require non-FFL shippers to include a photocopy of their ID or Driver License. If this is not included, the firearm will be refused.

• Sales and CA Firearm Excise Tax: We are required by the State of California to collect Sales Tax and Firearm Excise Tax on out-of-state transfers. Please contact us to discuss under what circumstances we will be required to collect state taxes.

Ammunition & Gun Part Transfers

We are happy to receive ammunition and/or gun parts for you. We must be notified in advance that
you intend to transfer ammunition or restricted parts.

• Ammunition must include a bill of sale or invoice or we will not perform the transfer.
• You will still be responsible for the transfer fee and return shipping if proper documentation is not included.

Fees

• Ammunition Transfer Fee: $40.00 (regardless of quantity)
• Restricted Parts Transfer Fee: $5.00
• CA Ammunition Background Fee: $5.00
• Sales and CA Ammunition Excise Tax: We are required by the State of California to collect Sales Tax and Ammunition Excise Tax on out-of-state transfers. Please contact us to discuss when and if taxes will apply.

Imports and Exports

We offer Import and Export Services. If you would like to import or export a firearm, ammunition,
or defense article, please contact us to arrange a phone consultation.

Fees

• Import License Fee: $600.00
• Export License Fee: $750.00
• You will be responsible for additional import costs including shipping, customs, broker fees, federal excise tax (if applicable), engraving, sales taxes, and state excise taxes.
• You will be responsible for shipping costs to the ultimate consignee for exports.

Consignments

We want to help you sell your guns. Please contact us to arrange a time to evaluate your firearm(s)
for consignment. Consignment contracts are 120 days. We accept consignments from all 50 states and even from international clients.

• If you are a CA resident, the State of CA requires us to report and hold your firearm for 30 days before it can be transferred to a buyer. This period is excluded from the 120-day consignment contract.
• If you are a CA resident, you must provide valid ID to place your firearms on consignment and provide a thumbprint to the State.
• Firearms must be left on consignment for 120 days, excluding the mandatory reporting period. Breaking this term will result in a $100 fee.
• Retail pricing will be determined through agreement between consignor and consignee.
• Firearms will be advertised online and in-store.
• Federal and State law requires consignors to perform a background check to retrieve firearms left on consignment. All DROS fees and waiting periods apply to returned consignment firearms, with no exceptions.
• Out-of-state consignors must provide an FFL to retrieve their firearm and will be responsible for shipping and handling.
• Please contact us to discuss additional terms of consignment.

• $20 Non-Refundable Listing Fee deducted from the final selling price of the firearm

Trade-Ins & Purchases

• We love trade-ins. We will accept your firearm in trade toward any new or pre-owned firearm, including consignment guns.
• We will evaluate your trade-in, inform you of what we intend to resell the gun for, and offer 75% of this retail price in credit toward your purchase.
• It is our promise that you will not see the gun advertised for more than what we told you. If we advertise it for more, we will pay you the difference in cash.
• We also buy firearms. Every gun is unique, and purchase offers will be made on a case-by-case basis.

30 Day New Firearm Return Policy

You may return any new firearm to us within 30 days of receiving it from pickup date as long as:

• The firearm was purchased from American Shooting Sports.
• The firearm is undamaged. It may be fired or used, but it may not show unusual damage or wear.
• The firearm remains in 100% original factory condition as delivered to the client. Any modifications will invalidate the return policy.
• The firearm includes the original box, papers, and accessories included when purchased. Missing items may result in a refused return.
• The customer will receive 100% store credit on the selling price of the firearm.
• Sales tax, excise tax, background check fees, and shipping fees will not be credited.
• Returns will not receive monetary refunds. Store credit only.
• The customer is responsible for background check fees, taxes, return shipping fees, and shipping fees for any replacement item.

Pre-Owned Firearm & Inspection Period

New and used firearms purchased are granted a 3 Day Inspection Period (certain exclusions apply).

• Whether purchased in-store or shipped out of state, if you receive your firearm and within 3 days do not like it, return it for 100% store credit or monetary refund.
• Shipping and background check fees are non-refundable, and you will be responsible for return shipping costs.
• New firearms may be returned within 3 days if they are returned unfired and in 100% factory condition, including all accessories and paperwork.
• Pre-owned firearms may be fired during the inspection period but must be returned in the same condition in which they were shipped, including all accessories.

Inspection period applies to in-store and out-of-state purchases.
